All Hands on Deck: Butte Central Seeks Volunteers for Western Class C Tournament

The spirit of "The Richest Hill on Earth" is about to be measured in more than just copper. As Butte prepares to host the Western Class C Tournament, Butte Central Catholic Schools is calling on the community to step up and ensure the event is a slam dunk.

Hosting a tournament of this scale is a massive undertaking that brings teams, families, and fans from across the region into the heart of Butte. To make it a success, Butte Central needs a dedicated roster of volunteers to keep the gears turning.

Where You Come In

Whether you’re a lifelong basketball fan or just someone who loves supporting local youth, there is a role for everyone. The tournament relies on volunteers for several key areas:

  • Ticketing & Admissions: Be the first friendly face fans see as they enter the arena.

  • Concessions: Keep the crowd fueled with snacks and drinks (and maybe a bit of that famous Butte hospitality).

  • Hospitality Room: Help host coaches, officials, and visiting VIPs.

  • Ushering & Security: Help fans find their seats and ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for the kids.

Why Volunteer?

Beyond the free admission to some of the most exciting high school basketball in Montana, volunteering is about community pride. These tournaments provide a significant economic boost to our local hotels and restaurants, and they give student-athletes a stage to create lifelong memories.

"It takes a village to host a tournament, but it takes a 'Butte' to do it right. We want every visiting team to leave talking about how well they were treated in our town."

How to Sign Up

If you have a few hours to spare and want to be part of the action, getting involved is simple:

  1. Contact the School: Reach out to the Butte Central Athletic Department sue.burt@buttecentralschools.org 406-782-4500 or the Butte Central Foundation at melissa.hill@buttecentralfoundation.org

  2. Shift Flexibility: Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts are typically available to accommodate work schedules.

  3. Spread the Word: Even if you can’t make it, tell a friend!

Don’t miss the chance to be part of the "Sixth Man" crew that makes this tournament possible. ---
