Students from Butte Central’s Junior and Senior classes came together this week to help clean and organize donations for the annual Butte Cares Clothing Drive, showing once again the spirit of service that defines BC’s tradition of community involvement.
Armed with gloves, good humor, and plenty of teamwork, the students spent several hours sorting through bags of donated clothing, folding and organizing items by size and type, and preparing the space for community distribution. Their effort not only helped streamline the process but also made the donated items more accessible to families in need this winter.
Teachers and Butte Cares organizers praised the students for their enthusiasm and dedication. “They made a huge difference in a short amount of time,” one coordinator noted. “Their willingness to jump in and help turned what could have been a daunting task into a fun, efficient project.”
The clothing drive, organized each year by Butte Cares, provides free winter wear and essential clothing to local families. With community members donating hundreds of items, the work of sorting and preparing everything can be extensive; making volunteer support like that from Butte Central invaluable.
For the students who participated, the day was more than just volunteer work; it was an opportunity to live out BC’s values of faith, service, and community. As one senior student put it, “Helping out reminded us that small acts of service can really make a difference when we work together.”
Butte Central extends its gratitude to all who donated, participated, and volunteered
and to Butte Cares for their continued efforts to support local families through compassion and service.
