Maroons Celebrate Homecoming with a Big Conference Victory

Updated: Sep 30, 2025

The Butte Central Maroons moved to 3-1 on the season following an outstanding

performance on Friday night at Bob Green Field. The BC boys came out strong and

defeated Corvallis 35-13 in the first Southwestern “A” Conference game. The

Homecoming victory marked the first win over Corvallis since 2021.

“We are excited to open conference play with a “W” said Maroons Coach Don Peoples

Jr.” Our guys prepared hard and were determined to find a way to win.”

The Maroon defense set the tone early in the game forcing five turnovers. Other than a

third quarter drive following a BC turnover, the Maroons swarmed the Blue Devils

offense all night.

On offense the BC passing game went to the big play and produced 278 yards on

sixteen completions. QB Ryan Peoples went to five different receivers to spark the BC

offense. Big receptions by Joshua Sutton, GG Fantini, Treigh Hollow, Healy Mansanti,

Jack Nagle, and Danny McCarthy lead the way. GG Fantini had a great night with two

touchdown receptions and another on the ground. Freshman Henly Mansanti continued

his stellar season with two touchdown receptions. Maroon kicker Jack Nagle was

perfect on the night hitting all five extra points.

The Marron defense pressured Corvallis QB Reese Tucker all night long. Danny and

Bobby McCarthy, JJ Taylor, Colt Hassler, Jacky Nylund, and Palmer Kellicut played

strong from the defensive line. Line backers Gunnar O’Brien, Healy Mansanti and GG

Fantini added great pressure on the Blue Devis. The BC secondary crew of Noah

Sutton, Tony Stajcar, Joshua Sutton, Manny Weang, and Jazon Hiatt limited the

Corvallis passing game to 41 yards.

The Maroons will return home this Friday night and host Stevensville Yellowjackets in

another Southwest “A” match-up. The theme for the game will be Maroon Tough and a

new hand sign and school-wide motto will be introduced.
