Roy F. Simperman’s generosity continues to transform lives at Butte Central Catholic Schools. A devoted supporter of faith-based education, Roy’s contributions have made high-quality Catholic schooling accessible to more families in Butte, reflecting the values that shaped his own path.​ Roy passed away on February 27, 2025, in Mercer Island, Washington. He was a proud member of the BC Class of 1958.

Key Contributions to Butte Central

In 2019, Roy established a dedicated scholarship program for students at Butte Central Catholic Elementary and High School, easing tuition burdens and keeping doors open for deserving young Maroons. The Simperman Scholars of Academic Excellence Scholarship Program has impacted the lives of hundreds of BC students. In addition, Roy generously supported academics and technology programs in our schools. Over the last several years Roy and his family have provided Butte Central with an incredible matching gift challenge for contributions to our scholarship program. The challenge has inspired benefactors and alumni to support this vital cause. His leadership through the Carroll College Simperman Scholarship creates an outstanding opportunity for BC students to attend Carroll College. This incredible program provides four-year scholarships dedicated to BC graduates.

The school community honored Roy with a special "Roy Simperman Appreciation Day," where administrators, foundation staff, and the school board celebrated his unwavering commitment to Catholic education in Butte. These efforts have sustained vital programs, supported teachers, and built pathways for students to excel academically and spiritually.​

Roy's son Roy Jr. and the entire Simperman Family have continued to support Butte Central Catholic Schools.
