The Butte Central Maroons golf team had an impressive showing at the Hamilton Invitational on September 20, tying for third place with Frenchtown. The team posted a combined score of 322, just behind Corvallis, who won the boys' title with a 295.
Senior Will McGree led the charge for the Maroons, shooting a fantastic 1-over-par 73. His strong performance secured him a third-place finish individually and marked his second consecutive top-10 tournament placement.
The team also saw a great effort from sophomore Beau McGree, who tied for sixth place with a score of 76. Other notable scores for the Maroons included Kelton Berger with an 86, Connor Kachmarik with an 87, and Drew Kachmarik with a 94.
On the girls' side, Butte Central's sole golfer, eighth-grader Mya McGree, tied for 18th place with a score of 105.
The tournament was a final tune-up for the Maroons before they head to the Western A Divisional tournament, which will also be held in Hamilton. The team is looking to build on this strong performance as they prepare for the next level of competition.
Go Maroons!
