January 14–21 — Butte, Mont. — Butte Central athletes continued to make their mark during a busy week of winter competition, showing leadership and consistency across basketball, swimming, and wrestling as teams pushed deeper into conference and invitational action.
Boys Basketball: Sutton Leads Offensive Charge
The Maroons boys basketball team leaned on veteran leadership during a competitive stretch of games, with Joshua Sutton continuing to be a key offensive presence. Sutton provided steady scoring and late-game composure, helping Butte Central stay competitive in tight conference matchups.
Guards worked efficiently to control tempo and generate fast-break opportunities, while BC’s post players contributed with physical defense and strong rebounding efforts. The team’s balanced attack and improved ball movement were noticeable throughout the week.
