Science Fair Time!!!!

Our middle school students recently had the opportunity to shine at this year’s Science Fair, with 6th grade projects presented on February 17, 2026, and 7th grade projects showcased on February 23, 2026. These events were a wonderful celebration of curiosity, creativity, and hard work.

Students put a lot of effort into planning and presenting their projects. The gymnasium was filled with colorful and engaging display boards that highlighted a wide variety of scientific topics. There were experiments testing everyday phenomena such as the chemistry of baking to investigations exploring complex scientific ideas such as how the shape of a rocket’s cone impacts flight. There were colorful boards with flowers and skittles experiments. There were boards with experiments about rock candy, nail polish and ice cream.  Some students choose sports themes looking at the bounce of basketballs on different surfaces and the flex of different hockey sticks.

This wide diversity of projects demonstrates the wide interests of students.

The students did a great job of  incorporating the scientific method into their work. Many projects clearly showed thoughtful research, well-designed experiments, careful data collection, and meaningful conclusions. Judges and visitors alike were impressed by the level of understanding students displayed.

There were so many outstanding projects that choosing winners was no easy task. The creativity, effort, and scientific thinking shown by participants made the competition extremely close.
