Holocaust Survivor Visits with BC 8th Graders

As part of their Holocaust studies, our 8th grade ELA students had the extraordinary opportunity to connect via Zoom with Holocaust survivor Mrs. Susan Warsinger. She shared vivid memories of her early childhood in 1930s Germany and described how life dramatically changed for her family as antisemitism intensified under Nazi rule.

Most notably, she reflected on the events of Kristallnacht (Night of Broken Glass), a turning point that led her family to make the difficult decision to flee Nazi-controlled Germany.

Her testimony was both courageous and deeply moving, reinforcing for students the enduring importance of empathy, resilience, and standing against hate in all its forms.
